Giving Birth is a part of the circle of life and it has been well documented over the years and a lot of people know the process of how things happen before labor and they know about the things during labor. But the main thing that most people miss out and what most expecting mothers don’t know about is the trials that the mother will have to go through after giving birth. Most doctors for some reason only disclose the information on things that will happen when you’re going through labor and the things that you’ll also go through during the 9 month tenancy of being pregnant. This ideology should be changed and we should start incorporating the truth about how things will be once mothers give birth because the fact is they don’t know about the after effects. Some of these things can really put off a mother who’s looking to conceive in the future because some of these things have such a long lasting effect that they can even carry on into your future life years after giving birth to your child and it makes an impact on your lifestyle later onwards. It’s also important to note that these things were all noted down by nurses and midwives who have tons of experience in the birth of children and the after care that is needed. So you can expect the facts here to be accurate and true to the t.

Bleeding

What women don’t know after giving birth is that the bleeding will occur and go on up to almost 7 weeks after giving birth. This bleeding varies from one individual to another and it is often described similar to that of a heavy flow. The bleeding is residual clotted blood that stays after giving birth and it will eventually flush out of the system on it’s own. However, It is important to note that if the bleeding happens too often or at an unusual amount than your regular heavy flow then you should contact your specialist and set an appointment with your gynecologist.

Listen To Your Nurses

One of the things that mothers get wrong is that doctors know best. This can in fact be wrong in some cases because when the doctors are out doing the rounds and the deliveries. The one person that is always beside them, taking notes and talking to the patients more than the doctors are the nurses. They actually have more experience in this area than most doctors do and it’s worth taking note and listening to them about the advice they hand out and the things they mention to you. One of the most important things that a nurse once told me was that disposable breast pads are your best friend.

Post Birth Cramps

Once the childbirth is over and done with, The uterus will eventually return to its original size before the pregnancy and this reversion will cause stomach cramps that are noted to be similar to having your period. The cramps pain level will rise significantly when the mother is in the midst of lactating. The reversion also releases a chemical in your brain and the chemicals will help with the reverting uterus condition. The good thing about this is that the uterus normally gets settled into its previous condition within a week and you can talk to your specialist about getting some painkillers to help ease the pain. The other pains you might go through are sore nipples from lactation but that can be overcome through cream for sore nipples.

If it does go on for longer than that then you could incorporate lansinoh mother care products into your routine.
