Foundations, Matrix, Diploma, or Degree University students’ age range is generally considered from 18 to 27. They will usually continue their studies after they have taken their Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia exams in high school. Depending on their grades, they will normally decide on their next step after finishing high school. Some of those who do not get good grades, will not get offered by any University, and these people typically do not afford to pay for private Universities. Therefore, they will either work while waiting for the next available application or they simply do not want to continue their studies. Most of them would definitely continue their studies because people would advise them not to waste time with part-time jobs as they are still young. Thus, these students will begin exploring their passions and interests. Normally the Universities will hold an event like education fairs where students are welcome to come and go through their booths with a wide variety of courses under faculties such as culinary arts (seni kulinari), faculty of information management (fakulti pengurusan maklumat), science sports course (kursus sains sukan), and etc. But that is only the beginning of University students’ journey. That is why it is crucial for the students to know the importance of their health, to take precautions, and manage their time wisely because it can get rough because I have friends who actually decided to quit during their studies.
University students are aware and acknowledge how it feels like to be a student. Because we have adapted to studying during high school. But what students might not know, being in a University, is so much different compared to high school. The environment, cultures, and the way of learning are different. You will be asked to stay in college, where they will provide a place for you to stay including all the facilities, basically, you will have to be in the University area during your class, and you are allowed to go back on weekends. These new ways of living that you have to adapt to will somewhat affect your emotions. Thus, some students will go through homesickness or anxieties during their time at the University. From that, you will not be able to study normally or live properly.
Other than that, there are some students who will most likely give their all to the University, and these people are the people that usually perform for their CGPA and known as the best students. One of the reasons why you are recommended to continue your studies while you are still young because you have the energy to work and walk around. Even if you get sick, your antibody system is still strong to fight viruses or any infections. Regardless, by working hard and not taking care of your health or practicing a healthy lifestyle, you will easily get sick and that will bother your daily routines and not being able to perform successfully. Moreover, you will normally have a lot of group assignments at University, and that might be affected as well. Certain people can have consideration when you are sick, but if it were to happen during submission hours, it can get really bad because you will not be able to give your best, and your group mates might not be doing the things you want and you will not satisfied with the final work.
In conclusion, it is always best for you to acknowledge these possibilities and consequences to avoid unnecessary problems. Although students are considered energetic because they are still young, it does not mean that they do not need rest. Regardless, the students are still humans, that need healthy and balanced food intakes, sufficient rest, and not so much stress. Studying can be as tough and hard as working. The amount of stress can be the same and can be more. That is why I believe that it is also important to choose the right university to continue your studies like Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), University of Malaya (UM), Widad and etc. Good universities will normally take care of their students, and they will listen to the thoughts of their students. Not only just that, but the lecturers are also helpful in so many ways and have so much love towards their students.
